First of all I would just like to say hello to you readers. This is the first post of a new blog. Thought I'd start with something easy. Hope ya'll find the read interesting.
Something has bugged me for quite awhile, and I have thought somewhat upon it. I’m just going to muse my thoughts here in this post. Any comments would be appreciated.
The topic I’m going to talk about is Mankind’s utter stupidity as a race. Individually there are smart people, and perhaps as individuals everyone is intelligent…but as a race we are stupid. Seriously, we as a race have a history that spans thousands of years, during those years many people have said “We must look to the past and learn from the mistakes made.” And rightly so they have said that, and individually many people have learned from past mistakes. But I talk of us as a race, we are still making the same mistakes our ancestors made, I regretfully say that we have not really evolved as a society.
Considering that we have not really learned from our past mistakes as a race in it’s entirety I cannot but look with dismay at our future. For though we have advanced technologically and perhaps some might say socially, though I strongly contest that, we still make the same mistakes, but now we have the ability for those mistakes to end our race. Had we learned from our mistakes I would argue that we would now truly be a united race, every man, woman and child united under one banner if you will. We would be at peace. But as I said, we haven’t, we are still a rampantly racist people (as a whole, even if we do not always recognise it), we are violent and as I said, stupid.
I point out that ‘Poor’ nations condemn the ‘Rich’ nations, rightly so I think we should learn slightly from Communism, though it can never work yet in reality, the idea of sharing wealth at least more is a much better idea that we should all subscribe to. However that some extreme people in those ‘Poor’ nations should band together and create organisations that then attack the ‘Rich’ nations is stupid. For that will not make them wish to help the poorer nations, rather it will close them off. However were we as a race to throw down our weapons, hold the hands of our fellow men everywhere and build as a WORLD, we might at least stop more poverty from arising, if not eradicate poverty over time.
The major issue we face though as a race is one of our strongest assets in dire times, yet in more peaceful times it is the limiting factor on our growth as a society. And that is Pride my friends, pride in all its forms, personal, racial, national and even sexual. For could we but throw away our national and racial pride we could form a United Nation, all countries throw away their borders and names and become one nation. All of mankind subject to one agreed law system and to elect one government by Democracy. Could we just put aside our differences of culture and colour we could further ourselves better, for regardless of how un-racist an individual or society may seem, it is a sad fact that underneath there is racism, oh it might not be huge, but it is still there. We do not as a race see people of different colours as exactly the same.
Could the rich and the poor, and every other divide in society such as class, could those all just throw away their personal pride that each has and embrace the others in true fellowship, then there is nothing from stopping us as a united people from solving some of the major issues, if not most of them, that we face in our world today. We could then give to future generations what we did not have, peace, a world to be proud of, truly proud. No economic or environmental issues that so much plague our world these days. We could focus on more important things such as advancing ourselves medically and even focusing more resources and time on exploring space, that large thing that is merely waiting for us to develop the technology, and for brave individuals to smash it’s frontier as mankind did when the world was young all those years ago.
Unfortunately I must say that as a race I do not feel that we are entirely ready to accept or even acknowledge these ideas, I know that even I am not ready for a lot of them. But I at least hope my friends that I could with time work towards these ideals; leave the true fruition of it to the next generation who would grow up with these ideals as the normal. But right now we as a race I think are just too blinded to fully see this bigger picture that I feel I can glimpse, we are all blinded in many different ways. If it is religion, race, colour, culture even, or merely our own morality and thoughts wanting to stick to the status quo.
But my friends, everything must have a beginning and this is what that is I hope. At least it is another beginning because I have never before seen these thoughts written for the world to see. And I hope that it will grow into something greater, these ideas, even if someone else has them entirely separately to me, though that may take a millennia or more, if we are still here, for we may well have killed ourselves off sadly. However as I said this is a beginning and I hope that you reading this can take away something from it. Even if that something is this, kindness. That is the first step in this, always has been, we’ve been trying to take this first step as a race for years beyond counting. The next time you see a fellow man in need of help, I hope that you stop, hold out your hand to him and offer your help in whatever form you can muster. Such an act will I hope be the foundations of feeling of brotherhood amongst all men regardless of colour or creed. For we are all humans under this one open blue sky. But I also hope my friends that you will think on these matters, come up with your own thoughts and views, feel free to agree or disagree with what I say, for it is merely my view of things. And I hope that you pass this blog on to someone else, a friend, or colleague. The more seeds that are planted, the more chance that one will grow into something truly marvellous to behold.
I am yet young in this world though my friends. And if I can see the world in this way, does it bode well? Perhaps some might say I am merely too pessimistic, perhaps I am. But think hard on it.
Feel free to e-mail any comments or views to crazymonk666@hotmail.co.uk I hope you do, I would be most interested in discussing ideas with other people. And am always open minded on such things.
